Rearing chickens

To feed the orphans, chickens are being reared for laying eggs and also for eating. Milk is hard to find for the orphans but eggs contain lots of vitamins and egg protein has high nutritive value. The highest vitamin value that the eggs have is vitamin A. According to the statistics 54% of Zambian children suffer vitamin A deficiency.

In addition to buying chickens, the farms need to be built and repaired.

One broiler chick costs average of 0.80€ and an egg-layer 9€.
